9.PatriciaPAW  Patricia Ann Wilson – self portrait

I began painting late in life.

Excited with my first attempts, I began to take courses. Diann Haist inspired me with figure drawing. I went regularly to the Toronto  School of Art for open figure drawing. I took classes at Dundas Valley School of Art and Quest Art School and Gallery in Midland ON. Under the tutelage of Tina Poplawski, a Toronto artist teaching at Quest, my work progressed.

Recent works are painted in acrylic but I have worked in oil, watercolour, soft pastel and print making. I prefer a large canvas.

My art has been exhibited in group shows and featured in venues in Barbados and Toronto. Two of my paintings were used in a Toronto magazine to illustrate an article. In 2014, I had a portrait show at Quest Gallery in Midland entitled “Women of Substance”.

Galleries who have represented my art are Grosvenor Gallery in Jamaica and Verandah Art Gallery in Barbados. Young Fox Gallery, Arts on King, and Victoria Art Gallery are in Toronto.
